Maundy Thursday
14 April
St. James Kingscliff 5pm
Jesus of Nazareth meets with his disciples, washes their feet, celebrates the passover with a radical change, tells Judas to do what he must do and then goes to pray.
Come and enter into this pivotal time in world history. Let the ceremony wash over you, change you, and inspire you. This year our worship will be different.
Instructions…
-
Liturgical Hand Sanitiser will be used for the “Washing Of The Feet” or maybe you will do it to hands. Bring a towel. We have lots of hand sanitiser.
-
Bring some “finger” food and your beverage of choice and a glass (i.e wine, beer, juice, mineral water, etc).
-
Bring a bottle of port. This will be used as communion wine in the coming months. This is NOT compulsory.
-
Bring a candle.
The worship will finish in candle light. A prayer vigil will be kept until 9pm.
Stay and pray for a short time or the whole time. You can even come and go. Some will go and get dinner then then come back. As you think about attending and doing this remember that our Lord said,
“Stay awake and pray that you may not come into the time of trial; the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
Matthew 26:41
I will provide books for your meditation.
